The Australian Stock Exchange ("ASX") is now called the Australian Securities Exchange ("ASX") as of December 5, 2006. As of June 30, 2006, 1,930 stocks were listed on the ASX with a total market capitalisation of A$1.2 trillion, making the exchange the 8th largest equity market in the world.
